Climate Control Devices

Clemco® Climate Control Devices

Climate control devices are available for use when using compressed air supplies to control the temperature of the air fed to the blast helmet or for comfort devices.

Air Control Valve (ACV)

The Clemco air control valve (ACV) allows the blast operator to control the volume of air to the Clemco high-pressure Type CE, continuous flow, air-fed respirator within a preset range of 7 to 15 cfm.

Clem-Cool and Cool Air Tube Air Conditioners

The Clemco Clem-Cool Air Conditioner (CCAC) and Clemco Cool Air Tube (CAT) allows the blast operator to control the temperature and volume of air to a Clemco high-pressure Type CE continuous flow supplied-air respirator within a preset range and to cool the air by as much as 50 degrees F. Comes with a belt to fit a 54” waist. The CCAC is non-repairable while the CAT is field-repairable. The CCAC is typically used with the Clemco Comfort Vest to cool the body temp down.

Climate Control Tube

The Clemco Climate Control Tube (CCT) allows the blast operator to cool or warm the incoming compressed air to a Clemco high-pressure Type CE continuous flow supplied-air respirator. A lever on the valve lets the operator adjust the temperature of the air entering the respirator by as much as 25° to 30° F warmer or cooler than ambient air. Comes with a belt to fit a 54” waist and is field-repairable. The CCT is used with the Clemco Comfort vest to heat or cool the body temp.

Clemco Comfort Vest

A lightweight, one-size-fits-most personal protective garment for warming or cooling industrial workers exposed to stressful hot and cold environments indoors or out.

It can be used in a variety of workplaces and industries where workers are exposed to heat or cold that may affect their health or performance. The vest operates on 20 cfm of compressed air. Directional air jets located on chest and back panels emit generous air streams to the upper back and chest areas offering upper body cooling, or warming, depending upon the air conditioning device chosen. Once connected to the air supply, the vest provides immediate and continuous comfort.

For abrasive blasting, the vest is worn beneath the respirator cape and under the blast suit. Grade D air quality must be used when worn by a worker also wearing a respirator because air from the vest exits beneath the respirator cape. The vest air supply is separate from the breathing-air supply.

For cooling only, attach a Clemco Clem-Cool Air Conditioner to the vest air-supply tubing; air volume and degree of cooling are easily adjustable, even with a gloved hand. The Clemco Clem-Cool can cool incoming air up to 50 degrees F*.

For cooling or warming, attach a Clemco Climate Control Tube, which warms or cools incoming air between 30 and 40 degrees.
